Trump has warned Tehran that if they don’t make a deal to end the war and open the Strait of Hormuz, he’ll launch air attacks to “completely obliterate” Kharg Island, oil wells, and power plants.

In a social media post on March 30, the US leader said “if for any reason a deal is not shortly reached” US forces will “by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island (and possibly all desalinization plants!), which we have purposefully not yet ‘touched.'”

Trump said negotiations with Iran were being held directly and indirectly with “reasonable” authorities and that Tehran was partially opening the Strait of Hormuz, which transports 20% of the world’s oil and natural gas.

“Recently, ‌following such a severe global energy crisis, we have indeed received signals from some of our partners about how to reduce our responses in the oil sector and the energy sector of the Russian Federation,” he stated on the chat.

The IRGC verified commander Alireza Tangsiri’s death in an Israeli air strike last week.

Five days after Israel reported the fatality, the IRGC’s Sepah News website said that Admiral Alireza Tangsiri “succumbed to severe injuries” from the attack.

Israel said the commander was killed in a hit in Bandar Abbas, a major southern port on the Strait of Hormuz.

The announcement from the IRGC did not elaborate on Tangsiri’s death or likely replacement.

In June 2019, the US Treasury Department labeled Tangsiri a “specially designated global terrorist.”

The IRGC Navy fights “guerrilla” wars in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz with fast-attack boats alongside Iran’s regular navy.
