During a heated speech at the United Nations on Wednesday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian lambasted President Donald Trump and accused the United States of “bullying” Tehran. He also vowed that Iran will continue to fight until it took its “last breath.”
As a result of months of combat, unsuccessful diplomatic efforts, and rising international pressure, Pezeshkian used his presence before the United Nations General Assembly to depict Iran as the victim in its battle with the United States and Israel.
This is what Pezeshkian had to say about the attack: “America and Israel attacked us, equipped with the most advanced technology and weapons systems, and our people stood steadfast.”
“It is true that they struck us, but we did not bend our knees in response.
The head was not bowed by any of us.
Those who are terrorists themselves, as well as those who teach and support terrorists, classify us as terrorists.
“All we have done is justify our own position.
Following the beginning of Pezeshkian’s attack on the United States, a member of the United States delegation left the General Assembly hall.
The Iranian leader is booed by protesters.
Pezeshkian was met with a negative reception outside of the United Nations, where protestors had assembled to decry the Iranian government’s treatment of opposition figures, restrictions on women’s rights, and persecution of political dissent.
