Europe Faces Mounting Unrest Amid Housing, Economic, and Social Crises

In recent weeks, several major European cities have witnessed large-scale demonstrations, highlighting growing discontent over housing, economic, and social issues.

Portugal: Protests Over the Housing Crisis

In Lisbon, thousands of demonstrators rallied once again to protest the ongoing housing crisis that has pushed many residents to the brink. The protest movement has come under fire from the Portuguese right, which alleges that left-wing and far-left groups are behind the mobilization of these crowds.

Netherlands: Unrest in The Hague

In The Hague, protests erupted after online calls for demonstration circulated through social media. Dutch police reported 34 arrests during the unrest, and one officer required hospitalization for suspected hearing damage after fireworks were thrown at police officers. Concerned about potential rioting, many businesses in the city had preemptively boarded up their windows, a scene reminiscent of similar precautionary measures in Paris.

Italy: Widespread Demonstrations and Clashes

On October 30, following a call from the USB trade union, large crowds gathered throughout Italy. The union estimated participation at over 1 million people across 70 cities, while official figures from the Interior Ministry placed it at 255,000. According to Corriere della Sera, violent clashes broke out between demonstrators and police in multiple cities, including Rome, Turin, Mestre, and Vicenza.

Mounting Instability

These events point to a troubling trend: Europe is grappling with mounting crises and signs of deteriorating stability. Issues such as affordable housing, inflation, and labor rights are fueling frustrations, while responses from authorities and political divisions risk deepening social fractures. As protests continue and tensions rise, governments across the continent face increasing pressure to address the root causes of public anger and restore trust in institutions.

Coming To America Soon

With widespread protests over housing, economic pressures, and social issues erupting across Europe, many wonder if similar unrest could emerge in the United States. The U.S. faces its own housing shortages, inflation, and political polarization—factors that have fueled protest movements in the past. While America’s circumstances are unique, history shows that when economic or social crises intensify, large-scale demonstrations and public discontent can quickly follow. The recent European experience serves as a reminder that no country is immune to waves of protest and calls for systemic change. In My Option You Should Get Prepared

Fox News and others have followed the president’s lead, as if they think that unrest in other countries will make people vote Republican.

At a rally in Kansas on Monday, Donald Trump tried to make money off of the unrest in France. He said that the unrest was caused by “migrants” and “communists” and was “what the radical ‘Dumocrats’ want to do to America.”

As Republicans across the country try to persuade people to vote Republican in November’s midterm elections, Trump’s allies in the conservative media have done the same, as if they think the events in France will scare people into voting Republican.

Sean Hannity, who is one of Fox News’s most well-known hosts, gave his take of the message on Tuesday. While fires were shown in France and the words “A warning from Europe” flashed on the screen, Hannity said, “This is, sadly, by design—an attempt by the left to destroy the free world, western civilization, if you will.”

Also, he said, “This is a sneak peek at some of the things that are coming to America.”

Hannity wasn’t the only one. Laura Ingraham of Fox News on Monday had Jamie Metzl, who calls himself a “technology and healthcare futurist [and] geopolitical expert,” on to make the same point.

“If you like what you see in France, then you should vote for these DSA candidates because they want the same thing here,” Metzl said.

It was just a repeat of something Ingraham had said a few days before, in front of a cartoon police light flashing and the words “A warning to America.” The chyron at the same time she spoke could not have said anything more clear. “Don’t let America become France” was written in every capital city.

What are you trying to say?El-Sayed faces his enemies head-on as the attacks get worse.

“America, Take note of this.” There were problems with immigration and money management, but the same promises were made here: free college, government-funded health care, taxing the rich, climate change, and open borders. Some of these promises were carried out by AOC, Bernie, and El-Sayed, she said.

The rest of Fox News mostly agreed. He said that the goal is “to replace communism with capitalism” as he showed videos of violent protests in France on Monday.

Watters said, “It’s already begun to happen here.”

That’s what Lawrence Jones thought on Tuesday. He read out loud a tweet from JD Vance in which the vise president said, “I hope Americans are paying attention” about what’s going on in France. So this is the future that Democrats in Congress want for your country.

Jones replied, “The vise president is totally right.” Then he talked to Ben Domenech, an editor at the Daily Wire, who agreed with Vance too. Domenech warned that what is happening in France is “what happens when people give up on their values and see nationalism as a dirty word.”

Fox News wasn’t the only one. Bianca de la Garza asked former Republican senator Rick Santorum on Newsmax on Monday if what is happening in France is a “wake-up call for America.” He said it was.

The speaker said it was. “The people running as democratic socialists or kind of mainstream Democrats, call them leftists,” he said. “They want to bring Europe’s economy and way of running the government to this country.” He said that would cause violent riots in the US.

They said, “The average European’s standard of living is much lower than the average American’s standard of living.” This would surprise people who are paid to study these kinds of things. Get Prepared
