Trump Is Offering $5,000 in Dividend Payments to Buy Votes

Donald Trump on Monday reaffirmed that he is still aiming to send Americans a $5,000 dividend payment if Republicans win the November midterm elections. “We’re taking in hundreds of billions of dollars of profits. It’s one of the reasons I can offer if Republicans win the House and the Senate, $5,000 to every adult,” Trump told reporters at the White House, citing his administration’s tariff policies. “We can do it and the Democrats can’t, because the Democrats don’t have any income and they’re going to drive us into a depression. They won’t have any money.”

Trump initially floated the idea earlier this month during a speech to a Republican Party gathering in Dallas as part of an effort to encourage voter turnout ahead of the midterms.Some members of Congress from the GOP have said the dividend idea would require congressional approval first. Trump stressed in his speech that the funds would be sent only if Republicans maintain control of the House of Representatives and the Senate in the midterms.

Little else has been disclosed by the government about the strategy. “If the Republicans win the House of Representatives and the United States Senate, both of them,” the president informed the audience, “I will give a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000.

He called it the “Trump dividend.”

Days later, Trump told CBS News he believes the White House doesn’t need Congress to deliver the funds, though House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) acknowledged it would probably take congressional action. “We’re going to be able to earn the money to support this, not from the deficit, not from taxpayers,” Howard Lutnick, secretary of the Department of Commerce, said on NBC News on Sept. 10, roughly at the same time.

Since the Obama election in 2008, we have settled for a Continuing Reconciliation Resolution (CSR) of the previously Congressionally approved Budget. We are not making hundreds of billions in earnings. Trump himself and his family ARE raking in 100’s of billions, using insider info and manipulation.He can’t write checks BRIBERY: Paying for votes is unlawful.But you kool-aid drinkers lap it up. Don’t hold your breath waiting on the check though.
