The United States Is Not Trustworthy

“International relations are put to shame if your policy consists solely of lying, maliciously and constantly.”

But right now, that is exactly where the United States is. No longer are national interests or even national policies being pursued. The will of a fundamentally dishonest president.

This means that other states, especially those who are or were US allies, must perceive the US government as a danger, not a friend, as I have previously stated. You can’t put your faith in the United States since its leader is a corrupt crook.

It is simply that Trump and his lackies lie all the time. Our national media refuses to call it out but foreign countries see it clearly. Trump is totally transactional and you can never know when he will go back on a promise. As PM Carney put it “America signs its treaties in pencil.”

Trump has destroyed trust in the US. And a Democratic President and Congress won’t regain that trust because other countries can’t be sure a Republican President and Congress wont follow and repeat Trump’s Mafia approach to foreign relations. Until the Republican party is replaced by a conservative political party that accepts democracy, no one in the world will trust America.
