CEO’s Need To Know…

If You Want to Be Successful in Fighting for Your Home, Your Family, Your Church, and Your Community, “It Is Not Good to Be Alone”!

We live in an age of spin. You can pretty much spin any phrase to get a whole different meaning (see politics). That being said, I believe it is reasonable to state that the three phrases “It’s not good” would be difficult to translate into anything less sinister.

To put it in appropriate context, the first time these words were spoken was at the beginning of God’s creation. He created the world and everything in it, continually saying “it was good.” Then He came across something unpleasant. He stated that it was “not good” for men to be alone. With that proclamation, He created a woman and introduced her to Adam.

But God warns us that being alone is not only bad for the man-woman relationship. God created us for relationships and communities.

My point is that, just like in fighting, it is “not good” to participate in spiritual warfare alone. When you’re alone, you’re far more vulnerable to attack. When a colleague goes missing, the entire team suffers. When it comes to spiritual battle, we all need someone to look out for us.

When Jesus sent His disciples out, they traveled in pairs. When you become serious about walking with the Lord, you become a target for the devil, who will try everything he can to pull you off the battlefield. Many of the booby traps in War were designed to disable you and take you off the battlefield. Our “booby-traps” are far more subtle—that flirting coworker we see every day. The temptation to compromise on honesty and integrity in order to close a sale. The list goes on. We all need a couple of reliable brothers with whom we can meet on a regular basis and be open and honest about our shortcomings and challenges, knowing they have our back in prayer, counsel, and fellowship.

If you wish to fight for your house, family, church, and community, remember that “it is not good to be alone”! The million-dollar question is, given this, what are you going to do about it?

You can pretend it doesn’t apply to you. You can persuade yourself that you cannot spare the time. This is a terrifying proposition: baring your soul to two guys you’re just getting to know. It might get messy. However, life is incomplete without risk, and this is a risk worth taking.

There is no application for this. Ask the Lord to reveal you a few guys with whom you can interact. You’ll undoubtedly meet guys who want the same thing but don’t know how to go about it.

Be bold!
