According to The Atlantic, has been speaking out against his father’s conflict with Iran since the start, going so far as to directly address President Trump about his concerns. President Trump and his son, Donald Trump Jr.

Although he has avoided publicly criticizing his father, the president’s eldest son has privately voiced his disagreement to the nearly eight-month struggle on multiple occasions.

According to two unnamed insiders who claimed to have had direct conversations with Trump Jr., the MAGA leader has consistently cast doubt on the military effort, reflecting his long-standing stance against American engagement in international conflicts.

A source close to Trump Jr. allegedly informed the left-wing magazine that the dispute began when Trump Jr. voiced his objections directly to the president. “Don has kept his views on the subject private, as he would never publicly break with his dad on an issue like this, but I can’t imagine anyone who knows Don would be surprised by his personal views on the subject,” the source said.

Trump Jr. has long defended his father in the media as the kind of leader who would avoid expensive overseas entanglements for the United States, especially in the Middle East.

A number of conservative figures have raised concerns about whether or not the dispute aligns with the president’s campaign pledges, and Trump Jr.’s alleged resistance reflects these differences.

The conflict, however, has become into a contentious political issue for Republicans in the run-up to the midterm elections in November.

A Pew Research Center survey indicated that 65% of Americans are unhappy with the way the government is handling the situation, and the public’s annoyance has been intensified by rising petrol prices and increasing economic difficulties.

Trump Jr.’s spokeswoman declined to address the allegations.
