Are You Buying Rump’s BS Again??

Everybody Has Heard This Before: If the Republicans Take Over Congress, Trump Will Send $5,000 “Stimmy” Checks to Every Adult in the United States.

People may remember when Trump signed the CARES Act on March 27, 2020, which would have sent $1,200 to qualified adults and $500 to each child, with income-based phaseouts, and promised to send cheques to their homes. In December of that year, he officially authorized a second batch of $600 checks. (At first, he wanted Congress to increase it to $2,000; the House of Representatives was on board with this, but Republicans in the Senate stopped it.)

With the addition of President Joe Biden’s third stimulus check round, the combined amount of the three pandemic rounds exceeded $814 billion. No matter how you slice it, Trump said he had nothing to do with the viral plandemic that crippled economies around the world. Cash promises abound in Trump’s second term, however, and they stem from two projects he launched but failed to implement.

So in reality, Trump’s midterm elections promise—that $5,000 dividend—is nothing more than a fix for a political problem that Trump’s prior “give people money” promise (and the tariffs behind it) helped create.

Trump’s approval rating is around 38%, according to reporting by The Guardian.
